Hello to all here~ !

I recently discovered PT and thought it would be polite to introduce myself although I tend to be pretty quiet and hang in the background. You all seem like a very pleasant group here Smile Smilie my name is Sian (prounanced 'shan') and I'm an older lady of the Hobbit-y sort. I live in a homely house on the high plains which are, at the moment, very cold and deep in snow. Two weary travelers are coming in tonight so I'm making bread and hot stew. We shelter quite few creatures here, pet rabbits, dogs and birds, a father in law and the two grown kids who have recently moved back home. Needless to say, its pretty cozy!

I first read LOTR when I was eleven but have to admit that I really didn't read very well and was only interested in Frodo and his quest. Since growing up I've re-read more in depth and became interested in more of Tolkien's writings and am happy to have the company of others who are also interested in Middle Earth.

Welcome!! wow...I wish my home were quite that cozy. Right now I'm in a dorm, and were not allowed friends of the furry kind (or feathery or scaley for that matter...) It sounds wondrous, though. Welcome to PT, settle in, make yourself at home, and I hope you find it just as friendly a place as your warm home.

Thank you all for such a warm welcome! Right now I'm still reading the threads and finding my way around but I'll try to jump in some, too, eventually :-)

Grond- No, I don't hale from the Emerald Isle, it's a place I hope to visit someday, tho!

Mellon & Laurelome - (and everyone!)You'd be very welcome here at my cozy house! Its pretty much standing room only right now and I'm starting to feel like Bilbo with the 13 dwarves at the door, however :-)

Welcome Sian, you and your Hobbity home sound lovely and joyful.You will find your way; I was very nervous at first but everyone is so kind and understanding as well as supportive.
Halbard, oh that I could wear my very own cloak and come by stealth to your window one windy night when you and your party of nineteen others are circled about the table eating and drinking.
