lol, I know what you mean about the cat sleeping on your tummy thing! it’s so wonderfull to have a cat sleeping on your tummy and to hear them purr, it’s one of the greatest things with owning a cat in my opinion.

Or when they bite ya toes and lick them,or stretch there bodys out on your neck.Gotta love cats

Cats, ugh... but I think it's really neat when declawed cats, like my step-mom's trying scratching you when you're rubbing their backs. It feels like they're patting you, it feels so good for them their claws retract and it feels funny on me!

I really like cats ... I had a cat and a dog once ... They were getting along unbelievebly well ... I've never seen a more striking match since ... I miss them both! *sighs*
Namarie!
Namarie!
I've gotten a loyal boyfriend since I got here. He's big, a little fat, has a scarred ear and is greay and white and furry and named Lucky. He is so sweet! If he is in my lap, and I'm patting him, and another cat comes up to me, he'll chase them away. I'm his.

Aire, will you be taking him back to Sweden with you?

aw, that’s really cute Aire! I hope he won’t be heartbroken if you have to leave him behind when you go back to Sweden again though....

I think my cat, Bunny, may have escaped from a kitty mental asylum. I chose her from a rescue center, or rather she chose me and she's been acting crazy ever since. She follows you around everywhere, spends hours watching the washing spinning round in the washing machine, watches tv, rubs herself around your legs; then slides down 'em and rolls on her belly, attacks the walls and is paranoid about other cats comeing through the catflap; she spends hours staring at it. Does anyone else have cats this crazy? My mother say's she takes after me, Like owner like pet.

Halo: I was about to say I have heard of dogs taking after their owners; however, your mom beat me to it. My mother say's she takes after me, Like owner like pet.

Really? Ask if she knows a cat named Blackie, pitch black, scared of anyone, big yellow eyes? I think the shelter forgot to tell us what mediction she was on cause she was one wierd kitty! I think my cat, Bunny, may have escaped from a kitty mental asylum.

But after the vet did the castration she's become a lot more social, though she doesn't like anyone but me and my boyfriend. (Which my catloving family thinks is a bit sad.)

I know how you feel. Bunny loves other people, but loves me the most. She tends to get very distressed if I'm gone for too long and when I get home she'll spend hours stretched out asleep on my chest. I'm the only one who'll let her do that, no one else'll allow it, because she digs her claws in a bit. Halo the human pinchushion! She probaly likes me because I'm the one she chose back at the animal rescue center. I know it sounds weird, but my nan always said that "a good pet chooses you, not the other way round." And when I walked past her cage at the animal center she came right up to me and just wouldn't stop meowing. Also she used to be sleek and now she's as round as a beer barrel!

Alas, I asked her about Blackie, but she only rolled over to have her belly tickled. I guess they've never met eachother.

Mum's good at that. Actualy we did used to have a dog, an old black labradoor called Cherry. Once she smelt out a gass leek in our house. We thought she was acting crazy, but we couldn't smell the gas and she could. Lucky really, if she hadn't warned us about it we wouldn't have been able to call the gas man out in time and would have had a house full of the stuff. Yikes!

Poteyto/potato Grondy, the online dictionary was down but a castration is a castration. Males get gelded and females spayed if you want to be exact, but they both get castrated. But sure, mock the Norwegian for choosing a word she thought was safe.
Here we call it castration no matter the sex of the "victim".

*Sniff*
Just wanna say...the White Curse strikes again. Our Snowball has been missing for almost a week now. We're worried that he might be in an accident or taken by someone, but it's so upsetting that he's not here, especially for my little brother who has grown really close to the cat ( he cried once when he thought Snowball was in a fight with a stray cat - he wasn't). I just hope that he'll come back, I'm really sick of losing our cats.

A very sweet and special stray cat has walked into my life. My sister and I had been coaxing her out of her hiding place in our horse barn for a while then she started meowing back to us and slowly but surely she came right up after a few minutes and was so friendly and affectionate that I couldn't help but get fond of her right away...Her name is now Ginny(like from the James Herriot story "Ginny and Ollie") shes a tiny Calico kitty that I've only known about for a week but she has already found a place in my heart(funny how pets do that). If my mom and dad won't let me keep her then we'll have to find her a suitable home, just a tad worried that no one will want her being shes not very pretty. I pray she'll be here to stay.

My Mum is at war with our cat at the moment. Bunny (our cat) isn't allowed on the kitchen table. But she's been going up there anyway, so Mum picks her up and puts her back on the floor.
And Bunny just jumps back onto the table.
Mum should realise that this is one fight she'll never win. This is Bunny's house and she rules it with an iron paw!

lol, that has to be really fun to watch though Ringfacwen...even if he does make a mess
We have not had our cat over christmas yet, I hope she didn’t learn to love climbing the christmas tree at where she first lived.
My passed away cat climbed the christmas tree once though. He jumped up and grabbed a hold of it....he never did it again though since it fell...he didn’t even have the courage to come close to it after that

My parents used to have a cat named Madness who thought he was a dog. Whenever someone knocked on the door, he growled.
They also had a cat named Chuck. When my older brother and I were born, she felt completely left out so she would jump into the craddle and stay there until someone noticed her.

I had been asking my parents for a cat for years. Then my sister became a vet and I went to here clinic and there was this cute cat sitting in a cage. My sister said if they can't find a home for her they will have to put her down. My sister took her out of the cage and let me hold her. She started purring and she wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me. So I begged my parents to adopt her then after a week we came back to adopt her she is the most sweetist thing ever. I just love her to pieces. And whenever she sees my she comes running up and starts purring. I love dogs too. )
what is your new kittens name?
I've adopted two new kittens: Fefe and Buttercup. Buttercup is a light tan kitten, I don't know her breed but nonetheless she is very pretty and has a nice character (is sister to Fefe and another cat I had). Fefe is a black kitten with a brown face, four white mittens, and a stripe running down her belly. They both follow me around everywhere and are very dear..

WARNING TO EVERYONE WITH CUTE CATS THEY DON'T WANT TO LOSE!!!
Don't come to my place. My rabbits are vicious to cats. No really. I'm serious. Stop laughing! a cat went up to Easter's cage, and he started growling at it, and trying to fit his paw out through the wire mesh to scratch it. And once Speckles escaped out of his cage, and i saw him fight a cat, and the cat went away bleeding. (Btw, I think you should know that Speckles is four times the size of an ordinary rabbit, and he was the runt of his litter. He's a flemish giant.)

Conan Cathunter?? Well, at least you know your home is protected. Do you think that a "Beware Of Rabbit" sign would look ok on your fence?

I know exactly where you are coming from Plaastic.
The last time my cat, Sindal, got sick I went prepared to have her put down and out of her misery, as she has ongoing health problems due to her age. I took a little box for her remains and lots of kleenex for me. Well, the short and long of it is I came out with Sindal very much alive and my bank account skinned. I hope the poor dear thing just dies in her sleep some day, because as long as there is breath in her, I will undoubtedly trott her off to the vet. And believe me, they see me coming.

I am sad to say that Sindal did get very sick again. I took her to the vet on Monday in hopes that she could pull through as she did the last time. Alas, it was not to be. After 3 days I had to give up my hopes and sign permission to have her put down. I must say that the vet was very kind and he tried to gently tell me that there was little hope but allowed me to come to the truth in my own time.
I am in the process of burying her under the lilac tree, which is no easy task with all those nasty roots. I plan to have a burial mound and plant small white flowers to honour her life. She gave me 17 years of unconditional love so the least I can do is shovel a bit of dirt.

I'm so sorry Nell. What can I say that won't sound like platitudes? She had a good long life and was a comfort when you were lonely? How is Pippin taking the loss; does he notice she's gone?
When my Mom's cat, which I had inherited, had to be put down due to kidney cancer, I mourned for a couple days and then had to decide whether I wanted to replace her or not. I chose 'or not'; however, I don't recommend that for you. Mourn for less than a week and then find another furry feline to love.
If you can stand the hassle, get a kitten and enjoy the fun, that way you can train (sure you can) what you are getting. Starting out with an older cat is a crap shoot, but if you can find a mouser, and a player, and still a stay at home, lovable cat, then you got it made.

My friend has a Siamese cat that eats popcorn and glue... I find this a very strange thing for a cat to do... (that rhymes
)
It also hates all living beings excluding the said friend. An example of its bizarre behavior: the cat will saunter up to you, sniff you hand, leg, etc., then when you think your safe and that it'll let you be, the cat will bite you
It doesn't hold on. It doesn't attack. It simply bites and retreats.

sorry to resurect a semi dead topic, but this reminded me of a short piece writen by the founder of the religion i follow, and thought i would share it with you all (i have censored some words, as this is a family site
)
" Before I codified Satanism, thus enabling me to integrate everything of a personal meaning into a suitable forum, I first considered the religion of Dogism. The belief system made sense, but was too limiting. Dogism holds that if you can’t eat it, and you can’t f*** it; then p*** on it. Much as I respect dogs and their gods, I could relate more to Catism, the principle religion of cats. The Five Commandments of Catism are:
(1) Don’t run, if you can walk.
(2) Don’t walk, if you can stand.
(3) Don’t stand, if you can sit.
(4) Don’t sit, if you can lie down, and
(5) Don’t stay awake, if you can take a nap.
Catism counsels: ’He who sleeps the day away / lives to sleep another day,’ or, ’Respect the friend who brings your food, for he has been your choice / Or go and catch it for yourself, and have a louder voice,’ and other such homilies."
personally this sums up cats for me entirely!

Those seem more like the 5 Commandments of Hobbitism to me.

(6) dont take a nap if you can eat something
there now its hobbitism haha
