That film looks good when it`s advertised so I`m gonna go see it.

I`ve never heard of it....What`s it about and what`s it like? Can you tell me?

It don`t matter what the ratings are, my mum lets me watch any film I like unless she thinks it`s really unsuitable for me, she knows I`m grown up enough for this and doesn`t really take alot of notice of the ratings, don`t get me wrong, she`s a brilliant mum. There`s nothing wrong with her. lol! No, seriously, she`s a great mum.

Strange... I just watched it last night for the first time as well. I thought it was FANTASTIC.

When Drew Barrymore's character talks about the "famous linguist" that said that "of all the words in the english language, 'cellar door' is the most beautiful" I think she's referring to Tolkien. I know that's not exactly what Tolkien said (and I can't remember exactly what he said) but that can't be a coincidence.

It's kind of cool, but "cellar door" doesn't sound so beautiful when said with an American accent

I just saw Catch Me If You Can last night, and I thought it was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. I must say that I’m hardly a Leonardo DiCaprio fan (never saw Titanic, and I never will), but he’s good in this movie. Plus it’s kinda hard to go wrong when you’re acting alongside Tom Hanks (who is brilliant in the film), Christopher Walken, and you’ve got Steven Spielberg directing! It’s a great movie, and all the more fascinating since it’s based on a true story.

Man, what Frank Abagnale Jr. was able to pull off was absolutely amazing! Heh Grondy (hoping Grondy sees this post), do you remember anything about that when it was happening? I think they finally caught him on Xmas in 1969, and then he did time until 1974, when he was released to FBI custody to work for them, and serve the rest of his sentence in that capacity. I was born in 71, so I was way too young to know anything about it.

That’s kinda what happened for Frank Abagnale Jr. He worked for the FBI for like 25 years after his release 1974, and is considered to be the world’s foremost expert on check fraud. He still does consulting with the FBI to this day, but he started his own company a while back as well, and the most amazing thing is he is the guy who developed the technology that most financial institutions around the world use for their secure check systems to this day. He also is the guy who developed the technology that is used by most states for driver’s licenses.

There is some interviews with him on the second disc of Catch Me If You Can, and he talks about how the most amazing thing that’s happened to him in his life, was taking an experience that was so negative, and turning it into this tremendously positive successful career, where he is now one of the most well respected guys in his field, and he has made 10 times a much money with his own business, developing technologies, then he did when he was on his 5 year check fraud run (a little over 2 million). It’s just amazing to me that he was able to pass himself off as a teacher, Pan Am co-pilot, lawyer (he actually tried cases in La. for over a year, and nobody doubted he was a lawyer for a second), a doctor, and a secret service agent all before he was 21! This guy had people believing he was a co-pilot for Pan Am when he was 16, and the whole thing started because his parents were getting a divorce, and it was too much for him. He ran out of the courtroom when the judge was making him decide which parent he wanted to live with, and he ran away to NYC. It really is quite a remarkable story, and I highly recommend the movie to anyone who hasn’t seen it!

I was probably in the seventh or eighth grade one summer(1953-54) when our hired farmhand took me to town one Saturday night and we went to the movie and then stopped in a tavern where he drank beer and I had a sarsaparilla. I still watch the movie whenever it comes on TV.

Just watched a fantastic film last night called *the shipping news*, excelent movie about a middle aged man (Kevin Spacey)with next to no self confidence who, after his two timing terrible partner(Kate Blanchett) dies in a car crash, takes his young daughter and follows his aunt(Judi Dench) whom he has only just meet, to his ansestral(sp) home, NewFoundland.
There he learns to face his fears and learns about his family, it turns out his forefathers where pirates of a kind and would move the watch fires on the coast and when a ship came to greif on the rocks they would board it, kill the crew and steal the goods on board.
A must see for people who enjoy drama, comedy and love stories.

Well say what ye want but The Duke was da man. Also another film that I forgot about was Tango & Cash. I watched it a few nights ago and what a fantastic film it was. Russel and Stallone were perfec. The comedy timing these two had was superb. Plus with a budget of 55 million you knew to execpt action. But none the less a quality show.

I watched Charlie Chan in Honolulu last night, it and its siblings aren't great movies, but they are mind-numbing and bring back memories of my teenage years of early TV watching.

I just got done watching Save the Last Dance,its okay but the only part worth seeing is when Julia Stiles does that jig at the end

I like Ghost Ship. It`s an 18 and I watched it ova my mate`s sleepova. Scarey, but funny! I loved it when...I won`t say it coz this is a family friendly site. c! I`m a good girl!

True, though not for the reasons Lady F stated, that bit she refers to is, in fact, the best bit of the whole movie. After that it becomes way too formulaic and predictable. It is laughably dumb, and you can spot everything that happens soo far ahead it ceases to be funny.
If you didn't think 13 ghosts was rubbish, then you might like it, but 13 ghosts WAS rubbish and again only had one good bit in it, which was also a rather ingenious bit of sick violence.
However, if you love sick violence, then you really have to see the first 5 minutes or so of Ghost Ship, just don't bother with the rest.

Donnie Darko is such a brilliant film, but seem to be the only person on PT to have seen it.

Daredevil is the single greatest movie based on a comic I have ever seen. Really, it was utterly fantastic. The commentary on the DVD is hilarious stuff like "and this is where the parents who took their kids to see Spiderman walked out.."

I agree! They really managed to capture the dark, tortured side of M.M. that's so crucial to Daredevils character and story.

I think "Harrisson’s Flowers" is great it’s really touching!
I also love the three Matrix movies...nothing compares to them...

Hulk, Skwerl like Hulk! Skwerl Smash people who not like Hulk Movie! Skwerl happy that stupid movie people didn't go for 90 minute action/effects/smashing stuff movie but went for character development instead. Nowt to do with the Jolly Green Giant we all know and love from the comics, but way-cool movie.
