I believe that history is anything and everything that has happened even if has is 1 second or 1 billion years. I don’t think that history excludes anything but is everything no matter how large or small. Everything affects something and it all is important in some way. I also believe that history is everywhere you go but because wherever you go something is being done that will cause other things to happen. I believe that we study history so that we can better understand what has happened, why things are, and is there anything to learn or are there any repeating patterns so that we can learn and anticipate things in the future. I believe that we should pay attention to what happens around us and analyze each moment to see if anything new can be learned and used for future reference. It is like if a hurricane hits a primitive village. The people survive, but they will know more of what to expect the next time a hurricane hits and they will start coming up with ways to better protect the village from the hurricane. Eventually they will come up with a way to avert some of the damage that could be done if they pay attention to history and learn from the mistakes that were made in the past. This is what I believe history is.
Well I might disagree a little bit: The Past is everything that has happened and can not be changed. History on the other hand is that which has been handed down orally and/or written and is often in a state of flux, for it is written from the author's perspective as he/she views how the world got to be in the shape it is.
Okay, I wrote the above after reading the previous post; and being off-topic as it wasn't pasted, not even for spellchecking, you can may now consider it as being pointless.

it said last thing you copied and that was it. it was something i had written in word document and the copied and pasted to something else.
Robbin' wood, I didn't mean to complain about your post which was fine; I meant to say mine was off-topic, because I wrote it direct rather than pasted it.

I found this and thought it was funny.
There, I finally have something for you. I feel obliged to provide a little commentary to demonstrate the relevance to myself of the following: I concur with Adams' position which goes back to Roman times with these applications
1) It is essential that innocent members of society be protected from those who would prey upon them, and
2) Guilt should be proven as certainly as possible and the sentence no more than that necessary to provide the aforementioned protection.
Now, to the last thing I cut-and-pasted (over at wotmania, where rules on political discussion are the most liberal I've seen on a non-political site: )
"We find in the rules laid down by the greatest English judges, who have been the brightest of mankind, [that] we are to look upon it as more beneficial that many guilty persons should escape unpunished than one innocent person should suffer. The reason is because it is of more importance to [the] community that innocence should be protected than it is that guilt should be punished, for guilt and crimes are so frequent in the world that all of them cannot be punished, and many times they happen in such a manner that it is not of much consequence to the public whether they are punished or not. But when innocence itself is brought to the bar and condemned, especially to die, the subject will exclaim, 'It is immaterial to me whether I behave well or ill, for virtue itself is no security.' And if such a sentiment as this should take place in the mind of the subject there would be an end to all security whatsoever."
John Adams' final argument in defense of the British soldiers accused of committing murders at the Boston Massacre.
I've deliberately avoided bringing up my favorite discussion of Alcatraz vs. [existing alternative left to your imagination here], but if it's still too political I understand and apologize, and will mutely submit to deletion. Unfortunately for me, I only have three or four main interests (other than contract bridge) and the two biggies are verboten here.

Arggggh! I can NEVER post the last thing i copied here (unless I was over at wotmania, but it seems like nothing ever happens there) so I'm posting this instead.
Again, this is not so much a criticism (by either of us, I think) as "I love the site but wish I had a better way to dig into all of it."

Yeah, I though about that even as I was writing it. It wasn't a foretelling, but it was a Foretelling, technically, since it was the way she found out. Maybe she had some kind of other Talent that manifested then and showed her, but I doubt it. We don't really see her anywhere but New Spring so only her hairdresser (Jordan) knows for sure. I just couldn't resist when I saw that capital Foretell.

Oddly enough, I wasn't over at wotmania for this one, but discussing one of my favorite characters with Miruvor. Since I see there's three topics if I remember right in Non-Tolkien Books maybe his WoT thread is a good idea, as long as those who have read all of it don't give stuff away to those who haven't. There's more than a few twists and turns, and NOTHING goes the way it was planned.
That is a great line, Rivendell, and Tolkiens description of the reaction is priceless. I still like "Even now a Silmaril is in my hand" and "Great is the Fall of Gondolin" best though.
Update: my last c&p is now Rivendells, over at the wotmania version of the Party Tree. I don't post over there much, since I go there to discuss the books, and it seems no one wants to do that. On the up side, I can talk about the Two Great Taboos at length, and I don't have to watch my language. Not sure what that's about.

Harold is a depressed, death-obsessed 20-year-old man-child who spends his free time attending funerals and committing suicide in front of his mother, but he does not die. At a funeral, Harold befriends Maude, a 79-year-old woman who has a zest for life. She and Harold spend much time together during which she exposes him to the wonders and possibilities of life. After rejecting his mother's three attempts to set him up with a potential wife, and committing fake suicide in front of all of them, Harold announces that he is to be married to Maude. However, Maude has a surprise for Harold that is to change his life forever.
Best movie ever....dont deny it. Its called Harold and Maude.

"My Teeth Are Falling"
Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams we here at Dream Moods receive. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one with just a light tap. Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean?
this is for an english homework... looking up dreams and trying to interprete them... that sucks!
