Anyone been to Condom, France? For some reason, ppl always steal the traffic signs there. Tourists!!
So Virumor, how many of their traffic signs do you have? Elf With a Big Grin Smilie
I only have a picture of myself next to a Condom traffic sign.

Drive safely!!
Some photos of Heidelberg and some neighbouring cities can be found here.

They do not do them justice, but I was too busy to take good pictures. Smile Smilie

Actually it's Herz. Go, edit! But it's good to honour the great German scientist Heinrich Hertz.

Nice photos.
My spelling errors are starting to get frequent! Tongue Smilie

Well, I din't write Heinz at least. Btw, I'm not sure they have curry ketchup all over the world. (Re: Journal) We don't up here at least.
There's a town in germany I saw in a magazine once that has it's sign stolen more often than Condom, however I fear it's name will get taken out by any language filters as still exist here, I shall just say that it would be called firetrucking if you removed the "iretr" from it.
Nice way to express your "feelings" Sqwerl. Remove letters from words that is. Smoke Smilie

Great photos! Hey, I can see the house I lived in with 50 students. How funny. It's next to the castle just between the two towers on the old bridge. Nice. I'll be there in April for my ten year reunion (eek), and you've just made me really excited! Thank you.

Rothenburg is a great place too Smile Smilie. Nice photos.

I"M FROM NZ!!!!! (I'm sure everybody knows by now)

A very good friend of mine lives and works in Duluth, Georgia. Another dear friend lives in Tennessee nearby the Georgia border. I am making plans to visit them with my hubby in a couple of years, but better start saving money again. :-/

Anyways, my experience with people from the Southern states has been very positive. Somehow they are more relaxed and more fun! For those who are wondering, I spend 12 days in New England June this year and visited NYC, so I am not prejudiced.

I love Phoenix, even if it's a city, we landed there on our way to Cottenwood and it seemed really nice.
ARGH!!! WE HAVE AUSSIES ON THIS WEBSITE!!! Well, of course we do. BUT TWO IN A ROW!!!! Man, oh man, this is BAD. We need more Kiwis!!!! 42!!! Rhodry!!!! Come to the rescue!!!! Help me!!!! Help me outnumber these Aussies. I can't wait 'til I go back to England. Then maybe I shall stop caring about the whole Aussie vs. Kiwi thing. Yeah, how did you guess? I'm a Pommy New Zealander.
And Rhodry's a New Zealander too. Except he's not crazy. And 42, as well. Except 42 doesn't log in much, which is sad. rhodry neither, cause he's a dary farmer, but more than 42. And Rhodry's cool, by the way. And 42. And all KIWIS!!!! But not Aussies. Cause they're Aussie,s you know. ( I LOVE being mean to Aussies. Just don't point out that two of my Aunties have gone and traitorised and gone to live in Aussie.) Ooh, ooh... listen to this. Have any of you wondered WHY there are WAY less people per square mile living in Aussie than NEw Zealand? Like, 3, or something ridiculous? Because..... they visit New Zealand on holiday and decide to stay. Of course. I mean, we're just a little island, we should have WAY less people per mile. Of course, please don't point out that most of Aussie is uninhabitable desert.

Yes we have had two occasions where posts were lost, both on weekends where a few hours of posting were lost. Also the last time, I pray it will be the last, we lost all Virumor's and Loni's posts as well as their accounts. Virumor has come back as Miruvor; Loni we haven'y heard from, so I will start a new thread telling her we didn't lock her out on purpose and we want her back.
I'm from Minnesota!

Grondy, is there any other way we can contact her? Do you know her email or anything?
I live in Ontario Canada...the weather stinks here too. it can't decide whether it's summer, or winter. it's crazy. and very boring. but Canada rules!

Does Robbin know, he seemed quite chatty with her???

I am from Norway , in a little town on the south east side called Krageroe.

I believe Grep and/or Amarie have emailed her. We can not give out our members' email addresses, even where we know them, so as to maintain their privacy; though if they post them here, then they have relinquished that right.
I'm from Austria. Exactly: a tiny village named Stang which is located in the south of Lower Austria. I don't suppose anyone has heard of that before...
I live in by the sea in a little village called Rustington in the county of Sussex (or West Sussex as it is these days) in South Eastern England. To the north are the rolling South Downs, and to the south is the beach, sea and France. Tongue Smilie
im frm louisville kentucky

dont hate me cuz i cant talk correctly!
How terribly interesting. I frequent the political section of the courier-journal message board, despite the fact I've only ever been in KY for about ten minutes on the way to Milwaukee. Born Houston, atm Austin (well, close enough) by way of Milwaukee then Ft. Worth. And Mellie, I don't care for the weather in little d (same as here, 'cept ya'll get snow ever so often) myself, being from Big H and used to lots of rain, but you know what they say about the weather in TX....

And yes, Ithil, I've heard of Osterreich. Elf Sticking Tounge Out Smilie

I don't know how to ignore, and yes, I was funnin' with Ithil. I only use the ASCII set for Tolkien, since I can never remember them all (except Alt145 ’ and Alt146 is ’.) Gimme a break; it's been over a decade since I HAD to know German. And btw, "than" is a comparative, not a time point. Re Elf Sticking Tounge Out Smilie. Beat you with a wet noodle. Or maybe sleep since I'm getting... "silly" was the word, yes. And typing in fragments.

Sorry, don't know Stang, but I was only responsible for knowing where Bonn and the Schwartzwald were (war.) That, and learning the Ode to Joy in German II, then proving I hadn't forgotten it once each of the following two years as penance for taking III and IV ("Since German II is learning it, and you're in their classrom because there's only one of you, why not do it again?") I HATE that song....
Of course, we have all heard of Austria, you silly...I think Ithil was referring to Stang (unless you're joking, Morambar...than ignore this). And it's "Oesterreich" if we want to represent the umlaut correctly ohne umlaut. Wink Smilie

Why, Anton aus Tirol would be proud.
I live in a small town in the state of Pennsylvania, USA. It's very peaceful in the area I live in, because it's in the country and we don't have any neighbors. Smile Smilie
Although, I've always wanted to live in London, England; Tokushimashi, Japan; or Glasgow, Scotland. I think those are the three most fascinating places in the world. I have penpals from all over the world, so I learn a lot about different countries: I have a friend in Germany, named Anne, and a friend in Japan, named Kaoru.

wow, insider! you don't seem to speak a bit of german?

Orc Going Huh Smilie now, that shocks me... you know that anton aus tirol guy? is he so famous?
Quote:

He was, a couple of years ago. Somebody called "DJ ’tzi" made a ridiculous song about him.

Don't worry though, Austria is rightfully more appreciated for Haydn, H’ndel, Mozart, Beethoven than Anton. Not to mention, the Empress Sissi.
I live in good ole England where the rain is harsh and the sun hardly shows itz golden face. i live on a hill in gloucester robinswood hill and itz very very very cold right now, IM FREEZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spoke German better about ten years ago when I went to school in Heidelberg (my sophomore year in college), but I have lost most of it. Sad Smilie

yea, DJ ’tzi sang this stupid song calling himself anton aus tirol, though his real name is something like Gerry (Gerald or Gerhard or something in that style...) the song is sooo silly, totally stupid... *argh* but what is rather embarrassing for austria is that it was on top of the cd-selling-charts for weeks... Shaking Head Smilie but I really didn't know that this song became famous in other countries, too... poor you.

that's good to hear. but you notice that all those austrian heroes died some time ago... *no comment*

cool. I'm planning to spend a year in england (or some other english-speaking country, got to think about that yet...) when I've finished grammar school (hope this is the right word for the kinda school I mean...) to see how much my english is really worth.

Well, Austria has some renowned ppl in the field of wintersports, and there's still J’rg Haider... although he's more infamous than famous.

And is "Der Bergdoktor" Austrian? I thought so, but he could be German or Swiss as well.
I'm afraid it might be austrian. or maybe a german-austrian co-production... how come you know that?? where are you from?
and, well, skiing seems to be one thing we really can do...
Austrian football team of the old was great! They had a great player, Sindelar.. died very young.
