He called himself Saruman the Many coloured - is this the answer?
No, that was his self-assumed color. When Gandalf cast Saruman from the order and broke his staff, he said Saruman now had "no colour".

Where were Thorin's Dwarves when they sang the following verse Question Smilie
Quote:
It passed the lonely Mountain bare
and swept above the dragon's lair:
there black and dark lay boulders stark
and flying smoke was in the air.
That diddy was sung in the house of Beorn.

Q: In what year (approximately) did Sauron choose the land of Mordor as his new stronghold?
Was it approx SA 1000
Indeed it was. Now you get to post a question!
Since this thread is almost forgotten, I'll ask another one:

How did Turin call Sador, the old man with an injured leg ?
"Labadal", which is found in the Narn I N’n H’rin of the Unfinished Tales.

Whose is this laugh and on whose ears did it fall Question Smilie
Quote:
... and then he laughed, and the sound was like music, or like water in a parched land; ... it fell on his ears like the echo of all the joys he had ever known. But he himself burst into tears. Then, as a sweet rain will pass down a wind of spring and the sun will shine out the clearer, his tears ceased, and his laughter welled up, ...
I think it was gandalf , and Pippin the one who hears it. Though I'm not sure at all.
Gandalf said it, but not to Pippin, or Merry, of Frodo. Elk Grinning Smilie Somebody can ask the next one when the give us the other hobbit's name. Happy Elf Smilie

There were a few others, like say ................ 1000 of them.
Quote:
... a thousand men on foot; their swords were in their hands. Amid them strode a man tall and strong ...
the latter was Erkenbrand.

I know this game isn't open book, but I wasn't trying to answer the question, but adding filler to the previous answer which I considered was close enough to ask the next question.
lol I did mean to say all the other 1000's and 1000's

Q: What was the date that the ring was thrown into the crack of Doom and destroyed.

E’rnur, thirty-third and last King of Gondor until the crowning of King Elessar (Aragorn).

Who was Otho Sackville-Baggin's father's mother (paternal grandmother) Question Smilie
That would be Laura Grubb.

As I am absolutely sure, I'll post a question: How do you salute in the manner of Gondor, according to the book?

If you need a hint, it's in between Pippin meeting Beregond and Pippin meeting Bergil. Animated Wink Smilie
...with bowed head and hands upon the breast.

How did Morgoth finally find out where Gondolin was?
He hid under a burning bush and waited for an unsuspecting traveler on their way to the Hidden City to show him the way?
And then he caught Tuor and Voronwe strolling down the path in pretty armour. He then clicked his fingers, and Maeglin conveniently steps out from a mountain hole, eyes flaming at Tuor. But then Tuor clicks his fingers and Idril comes out from another mountain hole, using her beauty to dazzle Maeglin's senses. Morgoth then found the way to Gondolin quite easily by simply going up the mountain hole and marking the path Wink Smilie (of course, how he later fitted Balrogs, dragons and wargs into a little mountain hole is still a mystery).

I realize this is totally out of chronological order and makes no sense whatsoever so don't take me seriously.
