When the last letter in this puzzle is filled in, most of us won't have a clue of what the words say, mean, or where they originate. Therefore, I think we had best have a new rule:
In the future, we should limit our puzzles to the English translations of Westron or the common tongue used in north-western Middle-earth. An exception to this would be any names, words, or first lines of poetry found in English versions of Tolkien's The Hobbit, LotR, Sil, and UT. Not enough people have access to HOME.
(This rule is subject to negotiation before it is set in stone, for it is the best I could do at this time. Maybe you can think of a better way to insure our puzzles aren't "It's Greek to me!" So we can keep the usage of Elvish and other of Tolkie's invented languages to a minimum that the majority of our members will be able enjoy the puzzles.)

That sound like a good idea Grondmaster.
If we are going to use Elvish then it needs to be a person, place or thing in Middle-Earth that is reasonably well known to Tolkien fans.
The idea of this game is for it to be rather fast so that everyone can have a turn, and to see who is well versed in Tolkien lore.
Anyone else with ideas?

Good idea. I doubt anyone would have a clue what my phrase is; its in Westron; so should I start over? Get a new one? Or pass it on?

We might as well finish this one as there are only a few more obvious letters left, then after it is finished we can start with the new rule.
So, are there any Os
However, if you really want to give up on this one, someone can start a new one.
