Well, you may or may not know this, but I called them "gonnhirrim" once or twice. Does THAT count? I call them that as an insult, but I suppose you could pretend that it just refers to their lifestyle in a nonderogitory manner.
Well, you couldn't call them "Gonnhirrim" as you are no elf, but I could call them Masters of Stone as I am an elf Elf With a Big Grin Smilie
Loss gets the Pseudo-Silmaril for the correct answer. Happy Elf Smilie The Elves were the First Age Sindar or the Grey Elves.

What is the name of the large body of water in Southern Mordor Question Smilie
I believe it's called Nurn, where Sauron kept most of his slaves, sowing and harvesting crops to feed his hordes.
I belive that Nurn is the name of the largest river that feeds the water mass, but it itself is called the sea of Nurnen. No?
Etharion has the correct answer for the body of water and now the pretty bauble. Happy Elf Smilie Nurn is also the land mass around the Sea of Nurnen, or Lake Nurnen as it is really too small to be classified as a sea to my way of thinking. I think Tolkien called it by both names and the four rivers that fed it were unnamed on his maps.

In 2063 TA, where was Gandalf sent, and what was he unable to discover Question Smilie
Gandalf went to Dol Guldur in the South of Mirkwood to investigate what the growing shadow was, but he couldn't find anything as "the shadow" aka Sauron, sneaked out of the back door leaving Gandalf stumped with a pipe in his mouth wearing a deerstalker hat wondering where Watson had got to Elf Sticking Tounge Out Smilie

What military skill did Tolkien specialise in during the Great War (WW I) Question Smilie
all I know is that he was in the trenches
I think that he was in the Gunner core, something Gunners.....
I have read somewhere that he specialised on different kind of signalising..But i don't know what kind though.Maybe MORSE ? ( I know I answer before I should have but I couldn't resist )
The Gunners Corp would be the Artillary, but that isn't the answer, as Mellon says, before her turn, it was in Signaling.

How did Gandalf come to select Sam to accompany Frodo to Rivendell Question Smilie
Umm..its the whole buisness with Sam eavesdroping on the conversation of Gandalf and when Gandalf found out what Sam was doing, he decided that he should accompany Frodo to Rivendell to reedem himself. Right?
Sam was lurking about the bushes at Frodo's house, being an ole sneak, then Gandalf caught him, thought about turning him into something nasty, then thought nah I'll let him go to certain death instead Elf Sticking Tounge Out Smilie

What was an ’ored Question Smilie

Boy, I'm glad as soon as I make this post I'm done with the Forum today. A few minutes ago when I had just about finished this post, I happened to look down and saw the power light on my back-up power supply/surge protector was on. So I reached down and turned it off. Then I got to wait five minutes for the computer to reboot including the infamous yellow on blue "Don't do that again!" screen, to refind and this thread, and then to retype the above question. The moral of this story: Be sure brain is engaged before putting hand (or tongue) in motion.
Umm..its a cavalary unit in Rohan, made out of Rohirim riders? Something like aa....squadron..or unit..only for cavalary.
Correct Etharion, you get the pretty bauble. Happy Elf Smilie I don't believe an ’ored had a fixed number of riders, because when ’omer met the three hunters, his ’ored comprised 104 horesemen, but as I recall there were only three ’oreds of the Rohirrim at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields which would have each numbered about two thousand.
