Yes, and the white mist was sent by the Lady of the Golden Wood to drive back the gloom of Dol Guldur which they had to ride past, as well as to provide them secrecy as they rode south. You can find this bit in the section of Unfinished Tales entitled 'Cirion and Eorl'. So Meneldur gets the Pseudo-Silmaril.

The Shire's northern border is The northen Moors( The Hills of Evendim), The western is The Far Downs, situayed west of the white downs, where Micheal Delving is in and the southern border of the Shire is uncertain, probably somewhere near Sarn Ford.Actually, it's inthe Southern Marshes Areawas the southern boundry. Bilbo found Sting in the treasure hoard, after the trolls (Tom, Bert, and William) were turned to stone. Good thing he got his hands on the key ahead of time! From the same treasure, Gandalf claimed the sword Glamdring (aka "Beater") and Thorin Oakenshield claimed the sword Orcrist (aka "Biter"). Elrond identified the swords when the travelers got to Rivendell a short while later. Glamdring (supposedly) was the sword of Turgon, King of Gondolin. Even after all these years, I'm still trying to figure out how swords from Gondolin ended up in a troll's hoard in the middle of Eriador....
Those trolls bought them off e-bay when the plunderers' mothers. cleaned out their attics. Sting was just a lowly unnamed dagger though it had probably been fashioned in Westerness, because it glowed with blue light in the facinity of orcs. Bilbo gave 'Sting' its name after he stung and killed a giant spider with it in Mirkwood.
